Harmons Emigration Market
Salt Lake City, Utah
A neighborhood grocery store was a pilot concept for the Harmons chain of stores. By grocery store standards it is small at 15,000 s.f. It was designed to fit into the shell of a store that had occupied the site for fifty years yet provide a new vibrant appearance. The historic store sign was refurbished and kept, otherwise the exterior is new with a subtle rhythm of column bays that afford large windows into the interior making, which is very engaging as viewed from the sidewalk and surrounding neighborhood.
